On Friday 30th May we visited the Otago Museum to study birds. Paul was our educator for the session and he set up stations for us to explore different parts of the birds and their structure. At these five stations we learnt about the anatomy of birds. It was fun looking at different species of birds.We also used ipads to take photos ........

- some can fly 1m-12m under water eg The Royal Albatross & Penguins
- different types of feet-webbed, clawed, skinny, some had 4 claws and were sharp
- different types of beaks- rounded, pointed and slender
- different types of wings-broad, thin, wide for gliding, speed and balance
- the shape of a birds body assists flying
- about the structures of the body
- aerodynamics
- tail feather for changing direction and slowing down
